Location
Located one block east of Manhattan's famous Union Square, Shades of Green Pub and Restaurant is:
- Steps away from the Union Square Farmer's Market (and Christmas Market during the holiday season).
- Around the corner from Irving Plaza, the famous rock venue where Dave Matthews started out. He was a familiar face at Shades for quite some time. And, as it turns out, Pat's daughter Lorraine was one of the earliest Dave Matthews fans. Many of the artists who perform at Irving Plaza can often be seen celebrating after the show at Shades of Green.
- Off-broadway theatres in the vicinity include The Vineyard, Century Theatre, DR2, and Union Square Theatre. Perhaps this explains why one can often find themselves raising their glass with a celebrity at the bar.
- An enjoyable walk from tourist sites such as Times Square, the Empire State Building, and the World Trade Center.
- 2 blocks from Union Square Subway Station. For more detailed directions, click here.
